Kit Machinery Machinery Configurator & Quoting Platform
A machinery maker's entire commercial and after-sales operation, on one platform.
- Industrial machinery
- Platform design, engineering and operation
- In continuous evolution since 2025
01 Summary
A bilingual, multi-region platform: rules-engine configurator, quoting, pipeline, credit approval, contracts, customer portal, machine registry, warranty, service and spare parts.
02 The shift
- The catalog on the site, the quotes in Excel
- Follow-up lost in email
- After-sales handled over the phone
- One platform to sell, finance and serve
- The quote and the contract come from the same model
- The customer sees their machines in their own portal
03 How it works
Configure
The rules only allow machines that can actually be built.
Quote
The quote comes from the same data model, nothing re-keyed.
Approve and sign
Credit and contract carry on from the same record.
Serve
Warranty, service and parts hang from the machine sold.
What sets it apart
A configurator of rules, not lists
Every machine's options depend on each other. Valid combinations are expressed as rules, so nobody sells a machine that cannot be built.
Everything hangs from one record
The machine that was sold. Its warranty, service visits and spare parts depend on it, and it is what the customer sees in their portal.
Everyone sees their own part
Roles and permissions separate what sales, credit, service and the customer can see, over the same data.
Several regions, one base
Each region runs its own language, currency and catalog, without duplicating the system.
05 Scope
- Rules-engine configurator

What we built
Kit Machinery sells, finances and services industrial machinery across several regions and in two languages. Before, every stage lived in a different tool: the catalog on the website, quotes in spreadsheets, follow-up in email and after-sales on the phone.
We built a single platform for the whole commercial and after-sales operation: catalog, rules-engine configurator, quoting, pipeline, credit approval, contracts, customer portal, machine registry, warranty, service and spare parts. The public site is the front door to the same system, not a separate brochure.
Technical story
The configurator is the center. Every machine has options that depend on each other, so valid combinations are expressed as rules, not lists. A salesperson can never assemble a machine that cannot be built, and the quote comes from the same data model that later feeds the contract.
Everything else hangs from one record: the machine that was sold. Its warranty, its service visits and its spare parts all depend on it, and it is what the customer sees in their portal. Roles and permissions separate what sales, credit, service and the customer can see, and each region runs its own language, currency and catalog on the same base.
